ABOUT chef jason
Over the past decade, Jason Roehm has served as a cooking instructor, personal chef and private event caterer. He is the Resident Chef at the Carlsbad Aquafarm for VIP Events and a guest instructor at the Center for a Healthy Lifestyle. With a Master’s degree in Education, he has more than 10 years of teaching experience, working with adults, teens and kids alike.
His personal passion for cooking stems from traveling around the world…diving for rock lobster in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, savoring Moules-Frites in Monte Carlo, gnocchi in Florence, bangers & mash in Londonand tapas in Barcelona. He longs to return to Vienna, Austria for some schnitzel, where he played professional football for one season.
He enjoys international cooking, lobster diving in La Jolla, crabbing for Dungeness in his home state of Oregon and day fishing trips in San Diego. You can frequently see him at various farmers markets around Carlsbad, Encinitas and Solana Beach looking for fresh ingredients. Jason lives in Carlsbad with his wife and 11-year-old daughter.
A percentage of proceeds from each class goes directly to the Boys and Girls Club's Center for a Healthy Lifestyle to support the farm to table cooking classes for disadvantaged youth.
